Positive Philosophy

Sanj Katyal

This is not another self-help book teaching us how to be happy. Happiness is not the goal. While most people spend their entire lives working hard in pursuit of happiness, what we really want is a life of meaning and fulfillment. We want to flourish. When we’re young, many of us follow society’s traditional path to success. We hope to hit the milestones for achievement and eventually be fulfilled. But the good life isn’t built on wealth, status, and material goods, and “having it all” only leaves you wanting more.

In this unique practical guide to living well, physician Sanj Katyal uses discoveries from psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, and medicine to create a practical, easy-to-implement blueprint for flourishing: Positive Philosophy. In this book, he combines the ancient wisdom of Aristotle, the Stoics, and the Bhagavad Gita with the scientifically validated tools of contemporary Positive Psychology. Designed as a personal operating system to lead an optimal life, Positive Philosophy can show you how to deepen your understanding of yourself and the world around you, end the cycle of materialism and greed, cultivate more tranquility, and achieve lasting meaning and fulfillment.

This is the book that Sanj wishes he had read twenty years ago. Enjoy and get ready to flourish.
